The Klamath Basin Snowdrifters are the basin's only non-profit snowmobile/grooming club. During the snow season the clubs volunteer members keep 360 miles of designated trails smooth, clear, and safe for all riders. Safety and fun are top priorities of the club.  With a wide range of rider skill levels, anyone can always find a comfortable riding group. 

Our mission is to educate the snowmobiling community about changes in laws, trail conditions, and weather conditions. To keep up to date, download the latest copy of the “The Drifter”, a monthly newsletter.  All KBSD club members are also members of the  Oregon State Snowmobile Association (OSSA).  The OSSA is in contract with the State of Oregon to maintain and groom the snowmobile trails throughout the state, as well as fighting to keep our snowmobile trails and rights as snowmobilers from being taken away from us.

 


 

Groomer Report

Fall is upon us!

Summer is over, fall is upon us. Now is the time to think of doing trail maintenance and getting the snow shelters stocked with firewood. The Drifters are planning on gathering and delivering firewood on Saturday, October 17. We will be meeting at the Cat Shed at the ODOT yard near Lake of the Woods at 9:00.

If you are out and about on the trails system and come across trees that have fallen into the road and have a saw and want to help out the groomers, please cut the log at the far side of the ditch. The Snow Cat needs at least 16 feet to safely navigate the trail system. If it’s a big tree, cut your way to allow your vehicle access, but another cut at that ditch edge will allow the cat to move the log when the snows come. Our Groomers thank you! If the tree is too big for you to handle, please let us know at kbsnowdrifters@gmail.com so we can plan on getting out there to remove the log. Thanks!
