Klamath Falls, Oregon

The Klamath Basin Snowdrifters are the basin's only non-profit snowmobile/grooming club. During the snow season the clubs volunteer members keep 360 miles of designated trails smooth, clear, and safe for all riders. Safety and fun are top priorities of the club.  With a wide range of rider skill levels, anyone can always find a comfortable riding group.

Our mission is to educate the snowmobiling community about changes in laws, trail conditions, and weather conditions. To keep up to date, download the latest copy of the “The Drifter”, a monthly newsletter.  All KBSD club members are also members of the  Oregon State Snowmobile Association (OSSA).  The OSSA is in contract with the State of Oregon to maintain and groom the snowmobile trails throughout the state, as well as fighting to keep our snowmobile trails and rights as snowmobilers from being taken away from us.

It's SNOWING! January 8, 2026

Dan Riblett

Well, the wait may be over! We have about 8 inches of snow at the Cat shed, which is marginal for us to start operations. We are going to try to get out and head to higher ground to start getting the snow packed down and work on the never-ending supply of fallen trees across the trails. We have both cats ready and waiting and are chomping at the bit to get out there!

If you are out and about and come across downed trees, please let us know! Post a message on the Klamath Basin Snowdrifters Facebook page with the location and possibly a photo so we can identify what will be needed to remove it.

If you are helping out by taking your chainsaw to open the trails, please consider that the cat needs a path about 18 feet wide to safely navigate. If you are cutting a section of a big tree to get sleds or skiers through, consider making two more cuts; one just off the road on each side. That way when the cat gets to the tree, it will not be necessary to stop and have the operator take the time to saw. We have a LOT to get through and the more help we can get this month the better! THANKS!
