Don Ambers
Don Ambers has been with the Snowdrifters for 39 years in the Klamath Basin.
2008 OSSA Snowmobiler of the Year
"My involvement started in 1970 and my dad started in 1968. My first machine was a 1970 Arctic Cat 399 Panther twin with 21Hp. Those were the days that you rode all day and it took all week to recuperate.
Over the past 39 years, it has been very exciting to watch the machines get better and a whole lot more expensive. During my time in the Club, I have been President 5 times and have been on the board so long that I can't remember how long.
I think the most important thing that has happened is the grooming improvements, the program and volunteers that makes the program work and be very productive for everyone. The most exciting thing for me is all the younger people who have got involved with the Club, who are doing a very good job in running the meetings and being ready to help when called upon.
I want to thank everyone again that came to the 2008 OSSA Convention and those of you that traveled so far to have a good time. Thank you for supporting me in all the years that I have been involved.
I have resigned from the board as of the last meeting and will see you on the snow.
Thank you Again,
Don, Janet & Family"
